INTRODUCTION TO THE MB SCOOTERS LAMBRETTA TECH-SITE

MB’s Tech – Site is written with over 40+ years experience by Mark Broadhurst.

With our large walk in shop, restructure and move of our business in 2012 we are now MB Scooters Ltd (ex MB Developments). Here you can find lots of information on all things Technical to do with Lambrettas.

I don’t do Utube video’s they make me cringe. Once you’ve said something and it’s wrong – it’s wrong!

A written printable Tech article can be modified as and when to keep it up to date! This is what it is – up to date relevant information. If theres a mistake or you are not sure – you can ask and it can be put right!

I hope you enjoy and learn from what you read, it’s a living book, updated when I can.

I’ve tried to group information in a common sense order. Sometimes this is not easy, sometimes you may think an article fits into ‘Fitting Instructions’ but could fit into ‘Setting up instructions’ both are different. It just needs a little thought. If in doubt have a flick around, there’s thousands of hours of writing and hundreds of photos. It’s all there, you just need to find it in any of these sections.

CYLINDER KITS, CYLINDER TUNING AND CYLINDER TUNING WORK

Here you can read about the different kits on the market from manufacturers for Large and cylinders. It gives history of the kits, whats good, bad and what we can offer to repair or improve them.

It tells you all about 2 stroke cylinder tuning from Mark’s beginnings – taking you through all the stages and how and why we do what we do.

Here you can see examples, write ups and photos of some of our tuning work. Mark has tuned probably more engines than anyone else. If you don’t believe that, then we can produce engine and tuning information of every cylinder tuned. Today it’s 2000+ cylinders and engines tuned. Plus on top of that are hundreds of factory style cylinder kits and casings tuned.

MB FITTING – ELECTRICS, ENGINE AND FRAME INSTRUCTIONS

Anything can be fitted wrong. Some know what they are doing and others don’t. We try to make our products easy to fit and use but they do need instructions. Here you can read our MB fitting instructions to make sure you get it right especially rebuilding an engine – mechanic or not!

MB PRODUCTS

From the word go – we have always made Lambretta products. It’s grown and grown. To date we make over 1000 items to Marks designs. You can keep up with new products as they come on our facebook page.

Here we show some of our products, taken from FB as we’ve introduced them.

STORIES

Sometimes it’s hard to group an article into a Tech section. So we created STORIES a place to show some relative news, information or just somethings that Mark gets up to.

TECH ARTICLES – DEVELOPMENTS, IN DEPTH ARTICLES, SETTING UP ENGINES, MB SERVICES, EXAMPLES OF ENGINEERING WORK AND TECH TYRES

Life’s easier for us to write Technical articles. It saves us been constantly on the phone or email telling people the same old thing. For everything we sell, there should be an article if required. Here you will see links to all our fitting instructions and technical articles. This is our legal way of saying follow our intructions or theres no comeback if you fit or break something – these ‘In depth’ articles are way more informative than the spanners manual that we helped to write.

Every part of an engine or Scooter can be broken down into sections and explained individually. Throw them altogether and its complicated. Read all about each section, item by item – to fully understand an engine and how each part works.

Mark is considered a bit of an engineer. He’s actually a Public Service Vehicle (bus) fitter by trade, but wanted more from life so have become self taught in many aspects of engineering stemming from been a mechanic interested in tuning 2-strokes. Here you will see machining, welding, repairs and developments that Mark gets up to.

Each page and article can be printed if you want by clicking on the icon at the bottom of a page.
